Sewing Blogger of The Year awards 2011

Sewing Blogger of the year 2011
We have teamed up with online fabric store Backstitch to bring some recognition to all those hardworking sewing bloggers out there.  We would like you to vote for your favourite sewing blog of 2011, and we will reward the winner with £50 credit for Backstitch so they can stock up on lovely fabrics.
There will also be 2 runners up prizes plus one voter will be picked at random to win a prize too.
How to vote
You can send your nomination using this entry form or you can put your nomination on The Sewing Directory Blog or the Backstitch blog in the comments below our posts about the awards.  Please do let us know why you love your chosen blog.  We know you may have many sewing blogs that you love but I’m afraid we have to limit to 1 nomination per person.  You have until midnight 31st January 2012 to get your vote in.
Bloggers please do feel free to post about these awards on your blog to encourage your followers to vote for you.  You can grab the code for the Sewing blogger awards button (left) below:

Prizes
1st - £50 voucher for Backstitch
2nd & 3rd – Prize bundle which includes a fabric sample pack from Makower, a sewing book & handmade ceramic buttons.
Voter prize - £15 voucher for Backstitch
Terms & Conditions
One vote per person, multiple votes will result in all of that person’s votes being removed.  All nominations must be received by midnight GMT on Tuesday 31st January 2012; winners will be announced on the 1st of February 2012.  There is no geographical limit, you can enter from anywhere in the world, and vote for a blogger based anywhere in the world too.  Postage costs for your order on Backstitch will be taken out of your voucher credit.   The nominated blog doesn’t have to purely focus on sewing so long as at least 25% of the posts relate to sewing.  In the event of a tie break we will use a random number generator to pick the winner.  A voter will be selected at random to win the voter prize.

I nominate the lovely Rachel from House of Pinheiro for a number of reasons.... 1) her fabulous style in fashion and her tweaking of patterns to personalize and improve. 2) is her range of crafty ideas and food for around the house and entertaining but the most important is 3) she continued with her sewing through a back surgery earlier this year, which not only shows true grit, but an incredible passion for sewing!

I nominate Louise from SewScrumptious. She not only blogs about fantastic makes, she created a fabulous christmas list to help other halves buy decent presents this year. Most importantly, her 'dress a girl around the world' project is inspirational!

I nominate Marijke from My Busy Craft Life because she's always being creative, there is simply no stopping her. Stitching & sewing gifts, decorations, costumes... But also cooking, decorating, anything you can think of. She always has great ideas and explains how to make them so well so everybody can have a go too. She's a lovely person with an undying passion, and even though she struggles with her health at times, she can't help herself but to make the world a lovelier, prettier, more colourful and inspirational place.

I nominate Marijke from my busy craft life because of her passion & creativity. The quality of her ideas & the skill she uses make all of her products very pleasing to the eye. She is rightly titled Costume Queen & I always look to see what she has going on...

I nominate Sue from Quilt Time - http://quilttimes.blogspot.com/. Sue always has a word of encouragement for new quilters. Her blog is amusing and full of wonderful ideas. She cosponsored a fun Christmas sew along and Sue published Pick Four, The book is well written and so easy to follow. Sue has made me feel like "I Can!" this past year. I know she has done the same for many others.

Another vote for Louise at Sew Scrumptious. Love her energy, cute projects that scream out to be imitated and most of all "dress a girl around the world."

I nominate Sarah @ Fairyface designs. She is putting together (as we speak) a set of tutorials to help those of us new or with little sewing experience- spreading the love. She is also gathering together a host of sewing buddies to share projects for us to sew :)

I nominate Sarah from 'Narcoleptic in a cupboard'. She has to struggle with various health issues and sewing and blogging is of huge therapeutic help to her. Her blog is really inspiring and, more importantly, very funny!

I nominate MJ from My busy craft life. She sews with confidence - not afraid to try things that are a bit different - and she sews the most INCREDIBLE costumes I've ever seen!
